Stats has undergone a revamp. From December the .../scStats URL no longer works - Stats is now at www.startfarm.co.uk/aspStats.

Please go there to use stats in its new form. Stats Classic is no more.

Why?

Stats was expected to be a short-lived bit of fun, to see who does what miles over the early part of the summer, then all dozen or so users would quietly stop adding stats and move on.

Instead we're on nearly 100 users, a quarter of a million miles and facing the issue of how to handle more than this year's stats. We have our own Y2K09 bug.

I've rewritten scStats. It's in ASP.Net instead of PHP, sits on a different database, and will now tick over for the next 90 years if needs be. It won't, probably.

Differences.

There are now just three pages; the main list, the Updates Page, and the Sign Up page.

The main page view defaults to a list of users who have updated in the last 3 weeks.

The drop down allows user selection of any year for which stats exist, so adding stats for a couple of years hence will annoy people. Please don't.

The Updates page is accessed via your user name on the main page.

On the updates page you can add and remove your latest miles, and update your base miles if you think they're wrong.

New Toys.

Miles are now accurate to the nearest 10th of a mile. Why not eh? We measure to at least that accuracy, so Stats can record them to that accuracy.

You can add your ride time, in hh:mm:ss. If you specify the optional hours, minutes & seconds aspStats will display your average speed for that ride. If you don't want to do that, leave it at 0.

Define your own ride type: We all do more than just commute. Add your custom ride definitions on this page and then select the appropriate one from the drop down when you add your stats.

Easily view your monthly stats - select a month from the drop down and all rides added for that month are shown. All miles are now grouped by month, no more weeks overlapping month ends.

Deleting rides is easier - click the Delete link and Stats will remove that ride from the DB.

That's pretty much it. Climb Ratio & Monthly Targets are no longer. The concensus was that they're a bit superfluous, and they would have added to the effort in recoding this little lot.

This is the Beta version. I expect there will be a few bugs to iron out, and requests for changes. Post them in the usual place and I'll take each one on its merits.

Note - I've tested it in IE 6, 7, & 8; Firefox as of V3.5.5, and Opera V10.10 - aspStats works fine in these browsers.

Chrome and Safari no longer have problems with the date field on the Add Stats page and should work correctly too.

All yours.
